The Crawford County Hunger Fighters and the Siouxland Food Bank sponsoring the food distribution. Food at this event is made available to Crawford County families and individuals in need of assistance. Registration begins at 1 p.m. with distribution following at approximately 2:30 p.m. Please bring your own boxes, bags or laundry baskets to carry your food supply.
Distributions are held on the second Wednesday of the month. Donations made to the Crawford County Hunger Fighters may be dropped off at V & H Tire, The Hoffman Agency, or Our Savior Lutheran Church. Each dollar donated buys approximately 13 pounds of food from the Siouxland Food Bank.
The Crawford County Relay for Life will be held on Friday, June 16th beginning at 5:30pm at the Denison Community High School. All are invited to this community event to enjoy food and family friendly fun. They will celebrate cancer survivors and also remember those who have lost their lives to cancer. Crawford County Extension & Outreach will be offering a Babysitting Clinic to all 10-14 age individuals on Wednesday, June 21 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. It will be held at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital Meeting Room D. The cost of the Babysitting Clinic is $15.00 and includes snacks, lunch and materials. The clinic is limited to the first 25 youth who have paid. The deadline to register is Wednesday, June 14. Registration form and fee can be mailed or dropped off to the Crawford County Extension Office at 35 South Main Street, Denison, IA 51442. Discovering fun with the 4-H clover kids day camp is for youth having completed 1st through 3rd grade. The cost of the camp is $10 per participant and the registration deadline is June 20th. Participants will spend the morning learning everything Clover Kids! Crafts, clovers, creativity and more! This great camp will be at the Lookout Shelter House at Yellow Smoke Park on Thursday, June 22nd from 9am-12 pm.
